Sept. 2 ~Update ~ No Rest For The Weary ~
Leslie Kimes Hall shared this story today.
*** ~ And, A Point of Clarification.
In the original story, “If you Live in Southeast Missouri (SEMO) ~ the Bootheel ~ Any Local Vet’s Office will be A Great Place to Start Giving.”
As A Journalist, writing the Positive Narrative is Always the Best Way. However, Credibility is Lost if the tale is too tall or there are problems with the story.
As is the Case with the above sentence that started this story.
Without identifying those responsible for the callous treatment of A Man Seeking Help for his 15-Year Old Weenie Dog ~ I Will Say This ~ #Mawlleah
“If you Live in Southeast Missouri (SEMO) ~ the Bootheel ~ BE SURE AND CALL YOUR LOCAL VET’S OFFICE ~ to see if they will be a Great Place to Start Giving.”
Sadly, many vets follow the path of the money hungry Humane Society of the United States; The National Group is more concerned with Fund Raising than actually helping Local groups.
And, that mantra ~ apparently ~ has trickled down to some of the Vet offices in SEMO. I will be doing a Rundown of those in the Region who are there to Help for the Right Reasons and those ~ who, in my opinion ~ are centered around A Dollar Bill.
My personal experience Monday with Two Local Vet Offices was not pleasant. In fact, it was down right insulting on many Levels. I will relay more on this at some time in the not too distant future.
But, I felt it imperative to set the record straight.
If you need veterinary services ~ please, call ahead ~ to make sure your Vet is willing to work and accommodate you; your budget and ~ most importantly ~ Care For Your Pet being the Prime Motivation.
I’ve seen for myself all too often that is not the case.
Update ~ #Touchdown ~ Puppies Land in Lincoln, NE ~ Aug. 29 ~ 7 pm
While Most of Us Humans take the Weekends Off ~ That’s Not What Sarah Fomby; her co-hart Leslie Kimes Hall do ~ and A number of Animal Welfare Workers and Volunteers in the Bootheel of Southeast Missouri.
They Save Lives. Thousands of Them. And, they do it on such on Grand Scale that it’s almost hard to fathom.
Instead of just casually tossing another Dog that’s been abandoned aside ~ these Fine Ladies do all in their Power to Find Homes for the Homeless.
When it’s the End of the Line ~ or would be for their Lives ~ Sarah and Leslie feverishly work to set up Drivers across the country to ship our Bootheel Dogs.
Yes, that’s correct.
Together ~ A Network of Caring Human Beings across #Merica pledge to work together for the betterment of others and pull off a nearly weekly detachment of animals to places where the Dogs are Wanted; Loved and Get to Live.
And, while the rest of us Enjoy our Weekend and Frolic with Family and Friends ~ Well ~ what these Folks do is Amazing.
Today ~ Dogs from the Bootheel of SEMO are being transported from Sea to Shining Sea ~ on Land and By The Air.
Every two weeks ~ from New Madrid; to Cape to StL ~ on to Minnesota, Wisconsin and into New England.
Today ~ August 29, 2015 ~ There are 38 Souls being Saved By Land and 16 Via the Air.
Nothing Stops These Ladies. Nothing. From Saving Lives.
And, That I Know ~ Is A DogGone Good Thing~
How Can You Help, You must Wonder?
Well, it’s really quite simple. The FIRST thing A Human Must Do is have their Pet Spayed or Neutered. There are way too many unwanted; unneeded and unLoved Dogs ~ And Cats ~ on the Planet.
And, there is A Way to Help that is even easier than that ~ well, really, there isn’t anything easier than doing the Right Thing where your Pet is concerned ~ but, if you have the ability to donate clothing; food; money, Love ~ they would be glad and more than willing to accept.
If you Live in Southeast Missouri (SEMO) ~ the Bootheel ~ Any Local Vet’s Office will be A Great Place to Start Giving.

**Update ~ During my tenure in Tallulah, Louisiana as the Publisher of the Madison Journal, I became involved with a Group Called HART ~ Helping Animals Reach Tomorrow.
I found suffering and cruelty on A scale I’d couldn’t even imagine happening right in front of My Eyes on A Daily Basis.
You think I use Hyperbole. I assure you, I do Not.
I could not – in good conscience ~ sit idly by and watch Dogs Die; Fight and Breed for Savage Humans. HART is still fighting the good fight on the Bayou.
In the Bootheel, so are Sarah and Leslie and their Volunteer Angels who Do the Right Thing ~ Now, Can You? ~ Find A Way to Help at your Local Shelter.
Trust Me, it Will make you Feel Better About yourself ~ and Humanity.
