In the opener, the Eagles played like they were ready for the game even with all the excitement and added distractions surrounding the 2015 Cal Ripken Major/60 World Series in Monticello, Arkansas.

Talking  to Jason Aycock, whose son Jase plays on the team, he was beaming with pride and anticipation.

“The team is jacked up excited,” said Aycock. “We just got out of the opening ceremonies. That was awesome, Jack. 16 teams from all over the United States and us out on the field.”
You could sense his pride and emotion.
“Yesterday, the kids had skills competition. Had a lot of fun meeting different people and making friends for a Lifetime.”

Eagle Adam Brands had the game of a Lifetime – or at the least the best one yet – with a 3-3 performance in the game with 2 RBI and got Player of the Game.

The offense which plated 2, 2, and 1 run before the 6-run outburst in the sixth was paced by; Jase Aycock 1 hit 2 RBI Drew Irby 2 hits Garrison Scott RBI Jamon Hooper also known as Jabommer: 1 HR and 3 RBI Adam Brands 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs and got player of the game. Hayden Ellis 1 hit.

And, as Coach Aycock, and coach Steve Stokes; and coach Gary Scott and Coach Irby have game planned for this tournament.

“We just just Pitched by committee!!!!”

Well, committee worked in game 1 and the offense clicked two. This has to be an experience these kids; family’s and fans will long remember. Stepping out onto the Field; bright lights; crowd and noise. Lots of unfamiliar spectators.

It takes just a little bit of something to do that. And, this team is doing it. Enjoy the Ride of a Lifetime as the East Prairie 12 & Under Eagles try and win a World Series title.

Game time tomorrow at 4 pm. Updates then.
